Dijon Wine Tours

Dijon Wine Tour Gallery

A city of slate roofs, the vines south of it and the cellars under both. Weighing up a Dijon Wine tour? These are the places your day takes you.

The first frames are the city. The Palais des Ducs stands above its square with its square tower, a gargoyle juts over the rooftops, a spire patterned in glazed tiles rises between half-timbered houses, and an old street shines after rain. Then Beaune, down the road, with the Hôtel-Dieu's courtyard under its roofs of glazed tiles.

Next you are on the Côte de Nuits. The Clos de Vougeot's château stands behind its walls in autumn gold, again at first light, and framed in the gateway of the Clos Blanc de Vougeot. A hut painted Chambertin Clos de Bèze glows among dark rows, a pillar marks La Grande Rue, and the name Richebourg is cut into stone.

On the Côte de Beaune a stone gateway names Chevaliers-Montrachet. The vines come through the year after it: a track to a stone lodge, rows running into a sunset, parcels in autumn rust, woods above a village and black grapes on the vine. The set ends underground, among barrels, dusty bottles and a four-wine, four-cheese table, then west of Dijon in the Auxois hills.
