Three wineries on both côtes, from Dijon
Three wineries plus time in Beaune was just the right amount for one day, with a guide who knew the history as well as the wine.

The day to book if you have one day and want both halves of the Côte. You meet at 16 Place Darcy at 9 am and ride south with a driver-guide in a minivan of eight at most. You taste at three wineries, from the red Grand Cru villages to the whites near Meursault, with time in Beaune's old town between them.
Meet ten minutes early in central Dijon; the day ends back on the same square.
A winery in the Gevrey-Chambertin area, one in Beaune, and a cellar near Meursault.
Côte de Nuits reds in the morning, Côte de Beaune whites in the afternoon.
Time to walk the old town and choose your own lunch.
Travellers praise the guides' knowledge of the wine and of the region's history.
The Côte d'Or is one slope with two halves, and most people can only give it one day. This day solves that by tasting on both. You start on the Côte de Nuits, the nearer and redder half, and finish on the Côte de Beaune, where the great whites grow. By evening you have tasted the difference between Pinot Noir and Chardonnay country rather than read about it.
Your guide also drives, so there is one person answering your questions from the moment you leave Dijon. The tasting fees at all three wineries are in the fare. You pay only for lunch, any bottles you buy, and a tip if you want to leave one. Still weighing up your Dijon Wine guided tours? Every Dijon fare sits side by side, with what each one pours.
After a short drive south, your first stop is a winery in the Gevrey-Chambertin area, the first Grand Cru village out of Dijon, for 90 minutes. You taste the Côte de Nuits reds that made the village's name.
Next comes Beaune, the wine town at the heart of the Côte de Beaune, for a second 90-minute tasting that turns to Chardonnay. The last stop is near Meursault, in the southern Côte de Beaune, reached along the Route des Grands Crus. It is a tasting in a wine cellar rather than a full winery visit, which is worth knowing before you arrive. One traveller found it the weakest of the three; most found the three settings a good contrast.
Between the second and third tastings you have about two hours in Beaune's historic centre. You can walk to Place Carnot and past the Hospices de Beaune, whose entrance is not in the fare, and choose your own lunch. Carry a card or some euros. One traveller found the break too short; another had plenty of time for the old town and a meal. If you want lunch included, the lunch day from Saint-Bénigne puts it in the fare for $254.
You are staying in Dijon, have one full day, and want to taste both the reds of the Côte de Nuits and the whites of the Côte de Beaune. It suits adults on a first visit to Burgundy, couples and friends who want a guide who drives, and anyone happy to buy their own lunch in Beaune.
You want lunch in the fare: the lunch day to Puligny-Montrachet and Meursault costs $254, and the e-bike day includes charcuterie and cheese. You want a cheaper full day: the Authentica day from the same square costs $165. You only have a morning: the Côte de Nuits half-day runs four hours. You want your own car and your own pace: see the private wine tours from Dijon. Every shared day from a Dijon kerb is on Burgundy wine tours from Dijon.
Meet your guide at 16 Place Darcy, 21000 Dijon, ten minutes before the 9 am departure. The day ends back at the same address, and there is no hotel pickup. Place Darcy has more than one meeting spot, so follow the map link the operator sends you. One traveller's advice: use that link, not a phone map.
The square is a short walk from the station and the old centre. Where to sleep within walking distance is on where to stay, and every kerb is marked on the map.

Nine of us in the van, and the rear seat was cramped. The intercom was hard to follow, though the guide was clear in person, and the lunch break felt short.

Three tastings in three very different settings, explained in good English and without any pretension.
